Diplomová práce hodnotí uplatňování rovných příležitostí žen a mužů v podmínkách výkonu služby u Policie České republiky. Zabývá se otázkou sociálně a kulturně podmíněných stereotypů, vztahujících se k společným představám o rolích, normách a chování očekávaných od ženy a muže. Teoretická část pojednává o genderových stereotypech, o problematice genderové diskriminace, zmiňuje i důležitost a nutnost studia genderové problematiky i její vztah se sociální pedagogikou, řešena je také otázka právní úpravy rovného postavení mužů i žen, nejen v ČR obecně, ale konkrétně i v Policii ČR.
Těžištěm diplomové práce je dotazníkové šetření, jehož cílem bylo odhalit postoje příslušníků a příslušnic k působení žen v přímém výkonu policejní služby, zmapovat a analyzovat postavení i možnosti uplatnění žen u Policie ČR, vyloučit nebo potvrdit jejich případnou diskriminaci.

Thesis evaluates the implementation of equal opportunities between women and men in terms of service at the Police of the Czech Republic. It deals with the issue of socially and culturally conditioned stereotypes relating to the common perceptions of the roles, standards and behavior expected from women and men. The theoretical part deals with gender stereotypes, issues of gender discrimination, refers to the importance and need for the study of gender and its relationship to social pedagogy, is also an issue addressed by the legislation of equality of men and women not only in the Czech Republic in general, but specifically in the Police of the Czech Republic.
The focus of thesis is a questionnaire survey, whose aim was to detect the position and the action of concerned women in the direct performance of police services, to map and analyze the position and the scope for women in the Czech Police, to confirm or exclude any discrimination.
