Diplomová práce charakterizuje především vývoj drogové scény v České republice a s ní související problémy se zneužíváním drog. Zabývá se vymezením základních pojmů, rozčleněním drog do jednotlivých kategorií, historií zneužívání drog a v neposlední řadě i statistickými údaji týkajících se právě zneužíváním drog v České republice.
Je zde popisována i léčba drogově závislých jedinců v terapeutické komunitě Sejřek, jež je jedna z mnohých terapeutických komunit nacházejících se na našem území, vybudovaných právě za účelem pomoci v léčbě ze závislosti na drogách.
Výsledkem práce je popis hlavních trendů v oblasti zneužívání drog v České republice, a to především po roce 2000, jeho následků, možností léčby, kterou poskytují mimo jiné i terapeutické komunity a srovnání statistických údajů poskytnutých Hygienickou stanicí v Praze a Terapeutickou komunitou Sejřek.

The thesis characterises the development of the drug scene in the Czech Republic and related issues of drug abuse. It deals with the definitions of the basic terms, classifying drugs into categories, the history of drug abuse and last but not lest the statistical data concerning drug abuse in the Czech Republic.
A description of treatment of addicted individuals in the therapeutic community of Sejřek is given. Sejřek is one ob the many therapeutics communities in our country established for the purpose of providing help in the treatment of drug addiciton.
The output of the work si a description of the main trends in the field of drug abuse in the Czech Republic, especially after 2000, its consequences possibilities of treatment offered, apart from other institutions, also by therapeutic communities, and a comparison of the statistical data provided by the Sanitary Station in Prague and the Sejřek Therapeutics Community.
