Práce je zaměřena na jeden z nejzávažnějších sociálně-patologických jevů současnosti - na korupci. Jsou zde charakterizovány sociální deviace a sociálně patologické jevy a v návaznosti na jejich vymezení je podána definice pojmu ''korupce‘‘. V další části práce jsou vyjmenovány příčiny korupce, rozebrány její typické formy a vysvětleny společenské důsledky tohoto jevu. V centru pozornosti další části práce je korupční klima v České republice. Tato část práce obsahuje jak historický exkurs k problematice korupce, tak i specifikaci vývojových tendencí korupce po roce 1989. Součástí této části práce jsou též výsledky výzkumu, který byl autorem k problematice korupce proveden. Poslední kapitola práce pojednává o možnostech působení proti korupci. Tato opatření jsou diskutována po jednotlivých hlavních oblastech, v nichž působení proti korupci nejčastěji připadá do úvahy - legislativní, organizační a technické, výchovně vzdělávacích aktivit a mezinárodní spolupráce.

The thesis focuses on one of the most serious social pathological phenomena of today - corruption. The author characterises corruption-related social deviations and social pathological phenomena, subsequently defining the notion of corruption on the basis of their characterisation. The following part of the thesis lists the causes of corruption, analyses the typical forms of corruption and explains social consequences of this phenomenon. The corruption climate in the Czech Republic is the focus of attention of the following part of the thesis. This part includes a brief history of corruption in the country and specification of development trends in corruption after 1989. The thesis also includes results of a research into the issue of corruption carried out by the author. The final chapter deals with the options of anti-corruption activities. These measures are discussed for the most likely fields where anti-corruption activity makes sense - legislative, organisational and technological, educational and the field of international cooperation.
