Bakalářská práce se zabývá otázkami motivace policejní práce a důvody, proč policisté plní své každodenní úkoly. Autor popisuje historii policie a četnictva. Dále autor uvádí vznik obecní policie. Autor ukazuje jaké úkoly plní strážníci a jaká je struktura obecní policie. Součástí bakalářské práce je i provedený výzkum a výsledná zjištění, co dnes motivuje strážníky a policisty uspokojovat potřeby občanů v obtížných podmínkách při udržování záležitostí veřejného pořádku. Závěrem autor zdůrazňuje nutnost dalšího zkvalitnění práce policisty - profesionála.

This bachelor work is concerned with the questions regarding motives inside police work and reasons for policemen to fulfil their every day tasks. The author focuses on the history of both police and gendarme. Further the author describes the origin of police forces organized by local municipal communities. The author features the tasks to be fulfilled by police officers and the municipal police forces structure. This bachelor work includes results of a field research and true answers what today’s motives to become a policeman are. There are featured individual
communications on the drives inside people working as police officers to satisfy needs of public while keeping the order in civic affairs. Finally the author points out at the difficult conditions a policeman - professional and the necessity to improve his/ her work results.
