Educational goals The branch of study Biomaterials and Biocomposites is aimed at research and development of the technologies with controlled interactions with living organisms/objects. This branch is focused on technologies of the materials preparation, modifications (both surface and bulk) and determination of the interactions with living systems. It includes issues of materials for both medical and other applications (e.g. advanced materials for agriculture and other technical fields and materials based on renewable resources). The study branch Biomaterials and Biocomposites develops knowledge of materials engineering, biological and physico-chemical disciplines. It ensures deep understanding of structural material analysis with respect to their interactions with living organisms and applicability in practise.
