Graduates might work in research and design institutes of basic and applied research, and furthermore in production organizations dealing with material processing (consumer goods, rubber and plastics industry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronics and environmental protection). Every year, graduates of this study course are successful in finding a job in the region as well as in the whole country. Graduates can also continue their studies in related master's study programmes. Technical subjects, information technology subjects and foreign language courses enable graduates to work (after training) also in other technical fields and in a wide range of state-owned and private companies and institutions.

The condition for admission to study in a bachelor's study programme is the achievement of a full secondary or a full secondary vocational education.
