Educational goals -
Annotation The follow-up master study field Preschool Pedagogy provides the graduates deepening higher education necessary for kindergarten teacher's work. Consequently it emphasises the meaning of university education and thus expresses a comparative difference between gained secondary school and university education of kindergarten teachers. One of the goals of the study is also to lead a student to understand the essence of science and to support research activity; in this case to support preschool pedagogy as a scientific discipline. University by its nature is an institution which is supposed to seek for space for modern science development. That is why research should be a part of activities of every university teacher as well as of a student. A question which often appears in expert discussions is if it is possible to find this classical university interconnection in teaching study programmes. This submitted study field represents the possibility of such interconnection.

Knowledge - upon finishing the filed of study the student is expected to demonstrate the following knowledge:
Theoretical competences of graduates:
-they are knowledgeable and oriented in wider philosophical, social and political consequences of educational process
-they know biological and psychological interpretation of children development and upbringing
-they master general theories of upbringing and education
-they know and understand preschool education theory
-they master the rules of creating and designing of pedagogical environment for preschool children
-they are able to interpret scientific texts of the field of pedagogy and border disciplines about upbringing.

Skills - upon finishing the filed of study the student is expected to demonstrate the following skills:
Graduates' application competences:
-they implement created upbringing and educational projects on the level of preschool facility in a group of preschool children
-they are oriented in programmes and general methodology of upbringing and education of preschool children
-they process methodically particular pedagogical projects and programmes for individual parts of the content and education
-they diagnose the cause of children's upbringing problems and intervene pedagogically to their remedy and communicate their knowledge with appropriate pedagogical and psychological service
-they prepare leisure time activities for preschool children
-they communicate in the English language.

Graduate profile The graduate is able to project and implement both upbringing and educational activities in preschool educational facilities and in leisure time facilities for preschool -aged children. The graduate has knowledge about cultural and social consequences of upbringing and education, they can apply pedagogical and didactic programmes of those particular institutions.

The graduates find application in kindergartens and specialized preschool facilities as workers qualified for pedagogical work with preschool children and also as civil servants focused on agenda of preschool children until their entry to compulsory school education and on issues of all institutions for those children.

-teacher in various types of kindergartens (state, private, church schools)and other subjects providing education to children until their entry to compulsory school education,
-director/ managing worker of kindergarten, or a specialized preschool institution,
-pedagogical worker in specialized preschool facilities (hobby, interest and other facilities for children of preschool age)
-civil servant focused on agenda of preschool children until their entry to compulsory school education and on issues of all institutions for those children,
-worker of Czech School Inspection (after completing other obligatory conditions)

Admission requirements The condition for admission is completing requirements of admission procedure according to the provision of the faculty for the particular academic year, published on the faculty website (Directives to admission procedure). The applicant is obliged to have a completed Bachelor's study field Preschool Teacher Training.
