Educational goals The aim of the field is broadening and deepening students' theoretical knowledge, which are based on current scientific knowledge in social pedagogy, and mastery of skills to apply them in creative and managerial activities. The study is designed with a sufficiently comprehensive view of the labor market. The content is based on studies of the broader concept of social pedagogy for helping professions. The study follows the Bachelor's program of social education and extends mainly specialized knowledge and skills of students. Graduates after graduation are able to control the operation of school or social organizations to create educational and social projects, implement a comprehensive educational and social activities, and to relevant educational and social research.
Annotation The study is aimed at expanding and deepening the knowledge and skills base of students in the area of social pedagogy, so that after graduation they will find emploment especially in schools, educational institutions, institutions of interest education, non-profit and public sector focused on educational and social activities.
Specialization profile A study programme is aimed to promote the acquisition of theoretical knowledge, research and development and to lead students to apply this knowledge and develop their creative facilities

Prerequisites

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before commencing their studies in this filed to finish it successfully:
Student know terminology and theoretical concepts of social pedagogy, social work and psychology in context of bachelor study.
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before commencing their studies in this filed to finish it successfully:
Student is able to work with databases and other relevant sources, analyze scholarly text, plan and realised research, communicate in foreign language.
Student is able to present and uphold his/her scholarly standpoint.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge - upon finishing the filed of study the student is expected to demonstrate the following knowledge:
Graduates know the history of social pedagogy, understand the terminology and theories of social pedagogy; know management practices and techniques specific to educational and social institutions and organizations; they are oriented in legislation related to the practice of social pedagogy in practice.
Skills - upon finishing the filed of study the student is expected to demonstrate the following skills:
Graduates combine pedagogy with other social science disciplines (especially with philosophy / education /, cultural and social anthropology, sociology), plan, implement and evaluate research activities and project activities focused on the pedagogical and social spheres; plan, implement and evaluate preventive, educational and educational activities; they lead teams; use specific communication techniques depending on the nature of the environment and the type of recipients; use professional socio-pedagogical terminology when communicating in one of the foreign languages (English, German, Russian, French).

Legislative framework for the graduates' employment consists mainly of Act No. 563/2004 Coll. on pedagogical staff and Act No. 108/2006 Coll. on social services. Graduates find employment in the public sector (especially in education - schools, school facilities, organizations and institutions of interest and further education, leisure time organizations, public administration - education and social affairs of municipalities and regions, social services - organizations and institutions providing social counseling, assistance and care).

Admission requirements Applicant for a Master's degree program Social pedagogy must be a student or a graduate of a bachelor study program Social Pedagogy or a related program. The entrance exam is written and contains questions from the thematic areas of the state final examination of the bachelor's study program Social Pedagogy at the faculty.
