Course content
|
- Reduction of multiple bonds between hydrogen atoms, hydrogenolysis. - Reduction of functional groups containing oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur atoms. - Oxidation of hydrocarbons. - Oxidation of hydrocarbons derivatives. - Introduction of halogen atoms into molecules addition of hydrogen halides, halogens and hypohalous acids on C=C, displacement of hydrogen atom with a halogen atom. - Introduction of halogen atoms into molecules displacement of hydroxyl group with a halogen atom, conversion of carbonyl compounds into geminal dihalogen derivatives, displacement of a halogen atom with other halogen atom, displacement of a metal atom with a halogen atom. - Nitration, nitrosation and sulfonation. - Alkylation of aliphatic compounds. - Alkylation and acylation of aromatic compounds. - Preparation of organometallic compounds, conversions and synthetic use of especially organomagnesium, organolithium and organozinc compounds. - Diazotisation, displacement of the diazonium group leading to the formation of oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur containing derivatives, azo coupling reactions, carbon-carbon bond formation. - Knoevenagel reaction, phosphorus ylides, Wittig reaction, Horner - Wadsworth - Emmons reaction. - Darzens reaction, sulfur ylides and their exploitation for the preparation of oxirane derivatives. - Protecting groups in organic synthesis. Protection for the hydroxyl, carbonyl, carboxyl and amino groups.
