Course content
Seminar History, importance and provision of first aid. Integrated rescue system and its components. Legal aspects of first aid. Psychological aspects of first aid. DNR issues (4 h). Prevention of injuries in children, adults and the elderly. Intoxication, chemical injuries, electric shock (3 h). First aid procedures for rescuing a drowning person. Mountain medicine procedures. Disaster and mass casualty medicine (4 h). Acute conditions of selected internal diseases. Acute conditions of selected surgical diseases. Acute conditions associated with pregnancy. Non-accidental conditions (4 h). Exercise Principles of crisis management in life or health threatening incidents. Diagnosis of the situation. Activation of the chain of survival (communication with the Rescue Service control room). Coordination of the rescue action. Practical training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation of children and adults. Use of AED during resuscitation (6 h). Arrest of bleeding. Treatment of wounds. Thermal injuries. Cold injury. Dressing technique. Head, neck, spine, chest and abdominal injuries. Allergic reaction (3 h). First aid procedures for rescuing a drowning person. Mountain medicine procedures. Disaster and mass casualty medicine (3 h). Casualty handling, casualty extrication, transport techniques and positioning. Treatment of fractures (2 h). Variations - according to the requirements and specific focus of the students or field trips (1 h).
