Lectures - Introduction to gerontology a geriatrics - 1 lecture. - Demographic and epidemiologic data connected to the topic of the elderly population - 1 lecture. - Ethical aspects of nursing of geriatric patients during hospitalization, the specifics of the approach towards the elderly - 2 lectures. - The elderly in the outpatient health care, acute conditions in geriatrics - 1 lecture. - Activization techniques usable with the elderly population - 1 lecture. - Communication with the elderly and their family members - 1 lecture. Tutorials - Evaluation of physical and mental abilities of the elderly - 2 lectures. - Falls and their prevention, risks of injuries, the issues of the home safety of the elderly - 2 lectures. - The nursing process at patients with geriatric syndromes - 3 lectures. - Activization techniques usable at the elderly population - 3 lectures. - Communication with the elderly and their family members - 2 lectures. - Internship / practical education at geriatric ward - 5 lectures.
