Course content
- Psychology as science - the subject of study, its position in the system of scientific disciplines, psychology disciplines. - Methodology of psychology - specific nature of psychic phenomena, cognition value and utilization of the methods (observation, interview, questionnaire etc.) - History of psychology (ante-scientific and scientific periods, significant milestones for a constitution of psychology as a scientific discipline, the important theoretical movements - associationism, psychophysics, Gestalt psychology etc.) - The main psychology movements of the 20th century (behaviourism, psychoanalysis, humanistic psychology). - Determination of psyche (biological, social factors, processes of learning, self-development etc.). Determination of psychic disorders and abnormalities. - Psychic functions, processes, states and properties - in norm and pathology. - Personality (structure and dynamics of personality, theory of personality, biological and social determination, motivation, abilities, character traits, character). - Personality. Methods of recognition, judgement of personality and mistakes in its judgement. Formation of personality in demanding life situations. - Pathology of personality. - Application of psychology in health care system, forms and professional fields - their relevance to psychology and pathopsychology).
