Course content
Seminar - Anatomical, physiological and pathological bases of the wound healing process - 1 hour. - Healing of chronic defects - factors influencing wound healing, exudative, proliferative and differentiation wound healing - 2 hours. - Assessment of wound condition in terms of origin, extent, depth, size, edges and base of the wound, the nature of exudation, location and age of the wound, presence of pathogens in the wound. Recommended classifications for the evaluation of wounds and pressure ulcers - 3 hours. - Special dressing materials for the treatment of chronic wounds and their use. Competences of a nurse in dressing a wound - 1 hour. - Record of nursing documentation of chronic wound - 1 hour. Tutorials - Wound treament, a dressing trolley as a mobile part of the treatment unit equipment, aseptic wound dressing, wound swab - 3 hours. - Skin examination to detect skin melanoma. Education of patients for skin self-examination. Dehiscence of surgical wound casuistry - 1 hod. - Special treatment of pressure ulcers - etiology, diagnostics, treatment and education - recommended treatment procedures, casuistry, demonstration and model practice - 1 hour. - Special treatment of diabetic foot - etiology, diagnostics, treatment and education - recommended treatment procedures, casuistry, demonstration and model practice - 1 hour. - Special treatment of varicose ulcers - etiology, diagnostics, treatment and education - recommended treatment procedures, casuistry, demonstration and model practice - 1 hour. - Internship at specialized departments - internal, pediatric, dermal, surgical - 1 hour.
