Course content

Seminar topics: 1. General features of the diagnostic process. 2. Medical history. Goals and yield for diagnosis. 3. Head examination: skull, eyes, nose, lips, and oral cavity, ears. 4. Neck examination, examination and description of anatomical structures and function. 5. Torso examination. 6. Physical examination of the chest and abdomen. 7. Heart sounds, additional heart sounds, pulse and blood pressure examination. 8. Examination of the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal organs. 9. Examination of the limbs and spine. 10. Formulation of normal/pathological physical findings. Practicals topics: 1. Communication between paramedics and patients in emergency care and inpatient and outpatient care facilities. 2. Medical history as a structured interview. 3. Head examination, basic examination procedures focused on soft tissues of the head, including adnexa and the skeleton of the facial and cerebral parts of the head. 4. Basic examination of the oral cavity, nose, eyes, and ears. 5. Examination of the neck: arteries, jugular veins, lymph nodes, thyroid gland. 6. Examination of the chest: abnormal chest shapes, breast examination, chest examination by percussion and auscultation. 7. Examination of the chest: respiratory movements, chest examination by percussion and auscultation. 8. Examination: heart sounds, additional heart sounds, pulse and blood pressure examination. 9. Examination of the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal organs. Examination by sight, auscultation, palpation, per rectum 10. Basic functional examination of the locomotor system.
