Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Physiology of cells and the internal environment. 2. Physiology of muscle tissue and muscle movement. 3. Physiology of the musculoskeletal system. 4. Physiology of the respiratory system. 5. Physiology of blood. The immune system. 6. Physiology of the circulatory system. Heart. 7. Physiology of the digestive system. 8. Physiology of the excretory system. 9. Physiology of the male and female reproductive systems. 10. Physiology of the nervous system, physiology of the sensory organs. Seminar topics: 1. Physiology of nutrition. 2. Physiology of physical exertion. 3. Blood, group antigens, transfusions. 4. Vital capacity of the lungs. 5. Adaptation of the organism to changed conditions. 6. Monitoring of external signs of cardiac activity, ECG. 7. Metabolism and energy conversion. 8. Energy balance, determining daily energy consumption. 9. Case studies, practical examples from clinical practice. 10. Case studies, practical examples from clinical practice.

- know the basic principles of the functioning of the human body (tissues, organs, organ systems); - apply acquired knowledge and understanding of physiology in specialised subjects and clinical disciplines, within the framework of interdisciplinary relationships; - explain the hemodynamics of blood circulation; - define lung volumes and capacities; - define the concepts of specific and non-specific immunity.
