Course content
Lectures: - Pathological conditions in neonatal age - basic differential diagnostics - 1 hour - Asphyxia, hypoxia and resuscitation of newborn - 1 hour - Therapeutic hypothermia - 1 hour - Birth traumatism of newborn - classification of the most common birth trauma, pain of newborn, paresis of the upper arm - 1 hour - Fetal and newborn infections, septic condition - 2 hours - Hyperbilirubinemia in neonatal age - physiological icterus of newborns, haemolytic disease of newborns, concept of treatment of newborns with unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia - 2 hours - Respiratory and cardiovascular disorders in the newborn. Fundamentals of artificial lung ventilation - 1 hour - Neurological problems of newborn, intracranial haemorrhage, posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus, meningitis and encephalitis - 2 hours - Hematology, bleeding disease of newborns - 1 hour - Congenital malformations - CNS, respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract - 1 hour - Premature newborn, fetal viability, specifics of diagnostics and treatment of premature newborn - 1 hour - Ethical issues of providing intensive and resuscitation care to newborns on the border of viability - 1 hour - Post-neonatal period, organization of care for high-risk newborns after their release to home care, counseling centers, early-care centers, monitoring of psychomotor development of children, consultancy care, vaccination - 1 hour
