Course content

Seminar Preparation of the block semester practice (provision and scheduling of clinical sites, updating of requirements for smooth running of the block semester practice and its reflection 2, checking of OSH training up to date for the academic year). Professional practice Provision of nursing care in the structure of mainly care for clients with chronic, compensated and long-term illness (follow-up care, long-term care) in a health care facility, according to the schedule of contractual workplaces (200 h). Focus of the block semester practice (list of specific nursing activities - see logbook): Provision of nursing care to acquire proficiency in individual nursing procedures in a non-acute care setting (opportunity to practice and refine procedures that can be built upon in acute care). Accessing and participating in medical record keeping. Communication and collaboration of the healthcare team, sharing information. Practical delivery of basic nursing care through the nursing process for self- and non- self-care patients, taking into account their needs, age and ethical principles. Practical training in self-sufficiency. Verticalization of patients. Nutrition of patients. Administration of medicines and other medicinal products. Collection of biological material, etc. Positioning of bedridden patients, prevention of immobilization syndrome, principles of rehabilitation treatment. Monitoring care with respect to geriatric frailty of patients/clients in non-acute care. Effective communication with the patient/client and their relatives. Nursing process in all its phases, assessment of the patient/client by the nurse, monitoring of objective symptoms and recording of subjective symptoms of the patient/client. Participation in rounding (medical, nursing), assisting and relaying information within the team. Reflection Analysis of the environment of block semester practice 2, identification of possible problem situations. Analysis of collaboration in a multidisciplinary team, interpersonal relationships, mentor/trainer guidance. Analysis of practice diary/practice guide entries (completion of activities, completion of assignments).
