Seminars - Anatomy and physiology of the skin, definition of the term pressure ulcer and etiopathogenesis of pressure ulcer formation. Definition of basic concepts and classification of individual stages of pressure ulcers. - Introduction to the international pressure ulcer classification system. Structured systematic assessment of the risk of pressure ulcer formation including appropriate tools (scales, clinical judgment). - Assessment of the condition of the skin, surrounding tissues, predilection sites and pain. Procedures for assessing the risk of pressure ulcer formation. Identification of individuals at risk of pressure ulcer formation, individual intervention and the importance of the time aspect of assessment. - Methods for assessing the quality of healthcare provided. Quality management of nursing care. Internal audit - compliance with standard operating procedures. Options for reporting adverse events and monitoring quality indicators. Departmental safety objective 8. - Treatment of pressure ulcers, differential diagnoses. Education of the patient and caregivers (family members) in prevention and correct dressing procedures. Methods for monitoring the healing process. Exercise - Assessment of the condition of the skin, surrounding tissues, predilection sites and pain. Procedures for assessing the risk of developing pressure ulcers. Identification of individuals at risk of developing pressure ulcers, individual intervention and the importance of the time aspect of assessment. Case reports. - Recommendations for the prevention of pressure ulcers. Assessment of nutritional status. Case reports. - Special treatment of pressure ulcers, etiology, diagnostics, case reports. Internship - Internship at a professional workplace approved by the course guarantor, where the student will practice the skills acquired in teaching the course (gerontology, internal medicine department, aftercare department, etc.).
