Course content
General social pathology Definition of social pathology, deviation (norm, normality, tolerance limit, identification and classification of socio-pathological phenomena). Selected theories of deviance (biological theories, psychological theories, theories of social disorganization, theories of anomie, theories of culture and counterculture, theories of social control, labelling, ethno methodological and radical theories). Applied social pathology Crime and delinquency. Substance addictions, non-substance addictions, suicidality. Domestic violence of an adult; child abuse, neglect and neglect (CAN syndrome). Poverty and homelessness. Prostitution and human trafficking, sects and religious cults. Extremism and terrorism. Vandalism. Racism, nationalism, inter-ethnic conflicts. Suicidal behavior. School social pathology. Prevention, its conceptual definition, social prevention (goals, specifics and basic characteristics, determinants, forms). Target groups of social prevention clients. Entities providing preventive activities. Outline of social prevention methods.
