Course content
A client with a mental illness as a client of social services, the specifics of working with people with a mental illness. - Health and social worker/social worker as provider of care and specific needs of the mentally ill. - Psychosocial consequences of individual mental illnesses. - Methods of social work with people with psychotic illness. - Methods of working with clients with affective illness. - Methods of working with clients with organic brain damage. - Methods of working with personality disorders. - Methods of working with people addicted to alcohol and other drugs. - Social work with families whose member has a mental illness. - Psychosocial rehabilitation and its importance for clients with mental illness. - The importance of community care in the care of people with mental illness.
