Course content
1. Cardinal numbers and natural numbers as cardinal numbers of finite non-empty sets. 2. Number systems. Writing natural numbers in the decimal and z-adic number systems and operations in these systems. 3. Converting the notation of a natural number from one number system to another. 4. Binary operations. 5. Whole numbers, sum, difference and product of whole numbers. 6. Divisibility of whole numbers. 7. Natural ordering of integers. 8. A natural number as an ordinal number. The ordinal number of a well-ordered set. Equality of ordinal numbers. The role of numbers in the world. 9. Greatest common divisor. Least common multiple. 10. Rational numbers. 11. Fractions and positive rational numbers. 12. Sum and product of rational numbers. 13. Real numbers, motivation for introducing real numbers. 14. Decimal development of real numbers.
