- Sociology as a scientific discipline. - Formation of sociology as a science, its beginnings and usage. - A subject of sociology and its position in the science system. - Chosen representatives of sociological thinking. - Sociology and an individual, social interaction in everyday life. - Types of society (traditional, modern and post-modern society). - Process of socialisation and enculturation, culture, subculture, values and norms. - Family and marriage. - Conformity and non-conformity behaviour, anomie as a state of society where previously approved values and norms are no longer valid. - Social stratification, systems of social stratification, education as one of stratification mechanisms. - Status, social mobility and social role. - Modern organisation and modern life, bureaucratic organisations, institutions as established, stereotyped, routine way of acting -typical for given group or culture. - Basics of a sociological research, the aim, subject and object of a sociological research, qualitative, quantitative and integrated research strategies, methods and techniques.
