- Definitions of non-formal and informal learning. - Philosophical foundations of non-formal education and informal learning - a modernization project. - Theorists of non-formal education (Rubenson, Sen, Desjardins). - Theorists of informal learning (Wenger, Illeris, Decius, Kyndt). - Participation in non-formal education. - Involvement in informal learning. - Motivations and barriers to non-formal education and informal learning. - Current trends in non-formal education and informal learning. - Non-formal education and the non-profit sector.
