Course content
Pedagogy as a science, the position of pedagogy in the system of human sciences, the structure of basic pedagogical disciplines, the relationship between pedagogical theory and practice, education and training, other basic pedagogical categories and concepts. The history of upbringing and education, views on educability and educability from the point of view of historical development, important personalities of pedagogy and their legacy. Contemporary education policy in the EU and the Czech Republic. Legislation. Alternative and innovative pedagogical directions. The individual as a subject of education, age and individual peculiarities, individualization in education and training. The role of the teacher, requirements for the performance of the teaching profession, professional competences, the professional path of teachers, peculiarities of the teaching profession. The educational process, its characteristics and regularities, the systemic concept of the educational process. Current trends and tasks of pedagogy, current pedagogical problems and questions.
