Course content
Corpus linguistics and its position within the linguistic disciplines History of corpus linguistics Definition, characteristics and representativeness of corpora Types of corpora (synchronic, diachronic, spoken, written, etc.) History of English language corpora The most important British and American corpora and their possible applications (BNC, COCA, etc.) Basic and advanced corpus searching Keyword analysis Statistical processing of corpus data (frequencies, frequency lists, MI-score, T-score, etc.) Collocations and multi-word phrases in corpora and their analysis Practical analysis (morphological, lexical-semantic, sociolinguistic, syntactic, pragmatic)
