Course content
|
The purpose and content of this course is to refine and enhance students' current skill set. To do so, the course will explore certain practical topics as well as honing grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and listening skills. The course also includes explanations and exercises covering the chapters on advanced grammar and vocabulary, including - verb patterns including gerunds and infinitives - conditionals - advanced modal verb structures - future plans and arrangements - compound nouns and possessive forms - relative clauses - advanced emphasis structures + All students will have a seminar once a week with the subject guarantor Mr. Sampey. + Students will also meet once a week with their other teacher of the subject. + The same textbook and workbook as well as the Language Usage Guidelines will be used for both weekly meetings of the seminar. + Each teacher also has her / his own Moodle page with information and links to materials, videos, activities, texts, etc. On this Moodle page each teacher will assign materials and other tasks for students to complete before each seminar. Verification of acquired knowledge and skills by a written credit test: The first attempt at the final written credit test for the subject will take place in the last week of regular classes of the semester. The second attempt will be made at the beginning of the examination period. Under normal circumstances the dates for the tests and exams of the subject are already in STAG by the beginning of the semester.
