- Overview of the approach to translation. - The phases of a translation, multivariate factor model. - Types of translation. - Functional and communicative equivalence. - Translation problems, the significance and meaning of linguistic environments. - Functional styles. - Glossaries, dictionaries, databases,computer supported translations and translation software. - Literary translations. - Interpreting. - Course Credit Test. Seminar: Translation - texts on the topic of study at the university - comprehensive vocabulary from the field of study at the university. - text from the press on current topics - journalistic style. - selected economic text - professional style. - selected technical text - professional style. - business letters - style of administration. - contracts - purchase contract, employment contract. - documents requiring judicial verification - the work of a certified translator. - web pages - group work, specifics of translation of internet presentation. - advertising texts, movie titles, jokes - specific texts. - Problematic translation - work experience. - CAD tools - basic functions of the Trados program. - Translations of selected texts using the Trados tool.
