Course content
|
Graduate's entry to the labor market: theory and practice confrontation. Orientation in the work environment: company culture, standards, processes. Copyediting according to the target group: internal communication, public relations. Copyediting according to the purpose: informal messages, PR articles, company presentations, reports, minutes, etc. Translations with focus on localisation. One's own text preparation: contents, visuals, typography introduction. English in companies: British, American, International. Cultural differences: (in)formality levels, polite phrases, (in)direct expressions. Frequent mistakes in managerial communication caused by Czech interference (vocabulary, data recording style, differing units, etc.) Copy tools: translators, spell checks, grammar checks, tracing changes, sharing and groupwork in text creation.
