Course content
- Basic lexicological terms - Vocabulary as a system - Relationships among words - Changes in word meanings - Word-formation processes - Multi-word expressions - Diminutives, children´s words, euphemisms, dysphemisms etc. - Vocabulary layers, territorial differentiation - Vocabulary layers, social differentiation - English language development - Foreign influences upon English, process of assimilation - Language families, Indo-European languages, position of English among world languages
