Course content
- Material selection criteria for engineering plastics, comparison of plastics with metals and ceramics. - Basic plastics and its applications as construction materials (polyolefins and styrene based polymers). - Basic plastics and its applications as construction materials (acrylic and methacrylic polymers, polyvinyl chloride). - Technical polymers - production, properties and applications of polyamides. - Technical polymers - production, properties and applications of polyacetals and polyphenyleneoxide. - Technical polymers - production, properties and applications of polycarbonates. - Technical polymers - production, properties and applications of PET, PETG and PBT. - Technical polymers - production, properties and applications of polyurethanes. - High performance polymers - production, properties and applications of polyethers and polyethercetones. - High performance polymers - production, properties and applications of aromathic polysulfides and polysulfones. - Heat-resisting polymers - fluoroplastics, aromatic polyimide. - Liquid crystal polymers. - Hybride and CFK polymeric materials and their applications.
