Course content
- Basic methods of scientific work - theoretical: analysis, synthesis, analogy, comparison, generalization, concretization, abstraction, idealization, classification, deduction, induction, argumentation, interpretation and others. - Models, hypotheses, methods of hypothesis testing. - Basic methods of scientific work - empirical: observation, measurement, experiment. - Structure of scientific research: defining a research problem, formulating research goals, choosing a research strategy. - Choice of research methods, definition of research sample. - Data evaluation, drawing research conclusions. - Sources of scientific information: relevance, online databases of scientific information. - Specifics of searching in individual international databases. - Scientometry: citation response, impact factor, Hirsch index. - Basics of time management. - Code of ethics for researchers. - Principles of work in research teams. - Ethical aspects of research and development.
