Course content
1. Philosophy of design in CATIA, introducing CATIA and its modules, introduction to individual modules, project creation, file types, model viewing, tree structure, environment settings. 2. Sketcher - basic features of drawing (LINE, CIRCLE, ARC, SPLINE, PROFILE) and sketch editing (OFFSET, SYMETRY, ROTATE, CORNER, CHAMFER, TRIM) with specilization in CONSTRAINTS. Explanation of PROJECT GEOMETRY. 3D features PAD, POCKET. 3. Features SHAFT, GROOVE, EDGE FILLET, CHAMFER, HOLE, DRAFT. 4. Revision of dimensioning and constrains in sketcher. Work Features AXIS, POINT, LINE, PLANE. 5. Revision of Work Features. Features MEASUREMENTS, PART PROPERTIES, and design of a 3D part by 2D drawing using all known features. 6. TEST no. 1. Design of a 3D part by 2D drawing with completely constrained sketch. 7. Features SHELL, FACE DRAFT, STIFFENER, TRANSLATION, ROTATION, SYMMETRY. 8. Features PATTERN, MIRROR. Design of a part using all previous features. 9. Features RIB, SLOT, MULTI-SECTIONS SOLID. 10. Revision. 11. TEST no. 2. Design of a 3D model from a real part with dimension measuring. 12. Features THREAD/TAP, SCALING, MULTI-PAD, MULTI-POCKET, APPLY MATERIAL. 13. Revision. 14. TEST no. 3 - Final. Design of 3D model using all features.
