Course content
1. Introduction - definition and concept of technology, classification of machining methods. 2. Progressive technology of material removal - their basic characteristics. 3. Mechanical processes of material removal, ultrasonic machining. 4. Abrasive jet technology for material removal. 5. Water jet and abrasive water jet for machining. 6. Chemical and electrochemical processes of material removal, chemical machining. 7. Electrochemical machining. 8. Electrothermal processes of material removal, electroerosive machining. 9. Plasma beam machining. 10. Ion beam technology. 11. Electron beam machining. 12. Laser processing - definition of laser and basic properties of light. 13. Equipment for laser processing, criteria for surface quality evaluation. 14. Laser cutting and cutting of materials, laser drilling, micromachining, turning, laser surface finishing, LAM.
