1. Environmental toxicology - introduction, definition, basic principles. 2. Toxicant - factors affecting toxicity of substances; relationships between organism and toxic substance. 3. Basic groups of toxicants monitored in the environment. 4. Biosystem - general properties of living systems, hierarchical arrangement, properties of organisms influencing behaviour to toxicants. 5. Toxicokinetics. 6. Biochemical basis of toxicity. 7. Exposure - general principles, the fate of substances in the environment. 8. Effect - general characteristics, higher levels of toxic effects. 9. Methodologies of ecotoxicology - the evaluation of exposure and effect. 10. Bioindication methods. Ecotoxicological bioassays. 11. Determination of toxicity using models (QSAR). 12. Ecological risk assessment. 13. Waste ecotoxicity. 14. Legislative regulations in ecotoxicology in the Czech Republic.
