Course content
- Earth formation and evolution. Earth structure. - Plate tectonics. Geological dating and mapping. - Rocks and minerals. Rock cycle. - Rock environment, soil, surface- and groundwater. - Influence of rock environment to human. - Influence of anthropogenic activities to rock environment. - Rock environment contamination and its sources. - Pollutants chemical reactions in the rock environment. Natural attenuation. - Preliminary steps of the remediation. Risk assessment. - Engineering geological study of contaminated area. - Groundwater remediation technologies. - Cleaning of solid materials, unsaturated zone and soil air. - Innovative technologies and application of nanotechnologies at remediation. - Remediation legislation and economics.
