Course content
- EDU PACK CES SELECTOR software, Cambridge University. - Materials database - world of materials (ferrous and non-ferrous metals, metal alloys, glass, ceramics, polymers, paper, wood, hybrid materials - composites) and worldwide suppliers. - Basic binary diagrams of metals, nucleation and crystallization, Fe-C diagrams. - Non-alloyed steels, alloyed steels, basic methods of heat treatment. - Non-ferrous metals. - Metal glasses. - Corrosion of metals, corrosion engineering. - Metals as part of composites (using the "synthetizer" module), materials with special electromagnetic properties. - Magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. - Sandwich elements (use of the "sandwich" module), solution of the shape of products in terms of stiffness and strength. - Machining technology. - Unconventional machining technology and additive technology. - Forming, welding, foundry. - Design of a specific component (bicycle frame, pressure spoiler, oar).
