Course content
- The principle of action of non-narcotic analgesics, examples of substances used therapeutically. - Opium alkaloids - their natural source, influence of effectiveness by the introduction and changes of substitution of the basic skeleton. - Neurotransmitters, their chemical structures and functions in the organism. - Barbiturates and thiobarbiturates - chemical structure, synthesis, biological effects and therapeutic use. - Compounds with a 3-phenylpropan-2-amine skeleton. - Compounds with a psychodysleptic effect. - Benzodiazepines - structure, biological effects and therapeutic use. - Tropane alkaloids - occurrence, effects and use. - Acetylcholine, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors and AChE reactivators. - Disinfectants, antiseptics and germicides - examples of substances used. - Antibiotics - definition, examples of groups of antibiotics. - Alkaloids derived from tryptophan. - Nucleic acid bases - structures, complementarity of bases, formation of nucleosides, nucleotides, other compounds with purine and pyrimidine skeletons. - Occurrence in nature, syntheses and biological activity of 5-membered heterocycles. - Occurrence in nature, syntheses and biological activity of 6-membered heterocycles - Basic groups of drugs affecting the vegetative nervous system according to the nature of the effect.
