Course content
1. Introduction to the subject, potential sources and ways of contamination of environmental compartments, definitions, basic concepts. 2. Sources of chemical contamination, hazardous industrial pollutants, bacteriological (biological) agents and toxins. 3. Sources of radioactive contamination. 4. Principles of detection of contamination of environmental compartments. 5. Methods and technical means for detecting and identifying chemical contamination. 6. Methods and techniques for detecting and monitoring radioactive contamination. 7. Organization of exploration and long-term monitoring of the environment in terms of its contamination. 8. Decontamination of environmental compartments, definitions, basic concepts. 9. Methods and procedures for decontamination, its principles, used substances and mixtures. 10. Decontamination of objects, techniques and materials. 11. Decontamination of persons. 12. Organization of decontamination after use of WMD. 13. Special technology and equipment for decontamination. 14. Organization of decontamination and remediation in case of serious ecological accidents.
