Main topics: Introduction, basic terms and categorization, political geography (geopolitics) as a scientific discipline. Geopolitical theories, concepts and their representatives I. Geopolitical theories, concepts and their representatives II. Hierarchization and specification of political geography - geopolitics. Political geography as politics and political activity. Political geography - instrument of political and geographical transformation of the world and society. Geopolitics of the Cold War. Recent developments and changes in political geography. Geopolitical position of the USA, Russia and China. Threats, risks and armed conflicts in the global geopolitical area from the perspective of the European Union. NATO and the Russian Federation I. Threats, risks and armed conflicts in the global geopolitical area from the perspective of the European Union. NATO and the Russian Federation II. The geopolitical position of the Czech Republic within Central Europe, the European continent and the world. External and internal security environment of the Czech Republic, its security strategy and policy. Current issues related to the subject matter.

| On the students' side, it is primarily an adequate level of knowledge acquired at the bachelor's degree in relation to the population protection, conceptual and strategic documents of central administrative authorities, relevant legal standards, especially the ability to think critically.
