Course content
1. Introduction to the Study of Psychology (definition of psychology as a field of study, historical development of the discipline, and main psychological approaches, research methods in psychology). 2. Characteristics of the Human Psyche (experience, behavior, human behavior in crisis, and the influence of the social environment). 3. Cognitive Processes and States (perception, attention, thinking, memory, imagination, and fantasy). 4. Human Performance from a Psychological Perspective (abilities, intelligence, learning). 5. Human Behavior and Its Causes (needs, motivation, attitudes and their changes, interests). 6. The Inner World of a Person (feelings, emotions and their regulation, emotional intelligence). 7. Personality Psychology (overview of human developmental stages, temperament, character, traits, and personality typology). 8. Human and Society I (basics of social psychology, socialization, social roles, social status, generations, social motivation). 9. Human and Society II (psychology of groups and crowds, conformity, coalitions, propaganda, social conflicts). 10. Basics of Human Communication Psychology (basic characteristics of social communication, verbal and nonverbal communication, interpersonal communication, assertiveness, nonviolent communication). 11. Basics of Communication Skills with People in Crisis (suicidal behavior, communication with aggressive individuals, communication with victims of extraordinary events and bereaved persons). 12. Basics of Managerial Psychology (employee socialization, workplace relationships, manager's personality, self-management). 13. Basics of Communication in Managerial Psychology (leadership, team management, workplace motivation). 14. Psychohygiene (effects of stress on an individual's psyche, defense mechanisms and coping strategies, burnout syndrome).
