Course content
Contemporary design is characterized by diverse approaches and creation. We are now seeing the design from an ecological point of view, due to the technologies and materials used, whether traditional or alternative. This approach is becoming independent in its development and the share of ecological view of design is deepening either in the technological direction (recycling) or from the societal point of view due to reducing production costs, reducing production exhalation, using existing material resources. In the XCTD2 course, we will deal with these problems and other current trends in the scope of our territory and from the perspective of our society in connection with the deepest traditions of Czech industrial, product and graphic design and architecture. Part of the course will also be an introduction to the current work of Czech designers. Course content: 1. Introduction - the development of existing and the emergence of new educational institutions for designers since the 1990s 2. Important personalities of Czech design from the 1990s to the present 3.-4.
