Course content
1. Opening of the semester, assignment of topics. 2. Introduction to etching techniques, preparation of the matrix. 3. - 4. Materials and equipment used in the process of creation in individual etching techniques. 5 - 7. Line etching. History of the technique, preparation of the matrix, materials suitable for etching, etching covers - possibilities of preparation, methods of creating a drawing, etching agents used in graphic practice - their properties and methods of use. Etching on grades - etching times. Working on themes. 8 - 9. Fragile cover - history of the technique, preparation of the cover - its properties according to the density of the cover, possibilities of drawing, etching times, fragile cover with grain - when and how it is used. Work not topics. 10. Aquatint - history of the technique, materials and equipment needed to create the matrix and print the technique. Different etching options - etching time. Smoothers and scrapers - different uses. Working on themes. 11. Reserve, creon etching and other etching techniques and options for using etching techniques, combinations of techniques, printing options, colour printing. Work on themes. 12. Consultation, proofreading of written thesis defences. Work on themes. 13. Evaluation of theses and their defence.
