Course content
1. character systems 2. speech and writing, writing as a specific form of visualisation of ideas and sounds 3. verbal and figurative language, conventional sign 4. the visual component of an animated work, the message 5. image criticism, the sign as the smallest unit of audiovisual speech 6. iconographic signs 7. pictorial synopsis 8. expressive means of animation The student will learn simple formulations of pictorial communication and be able to use simple sign systems for narration in still images with a focus on the temporal component.
