Course content
Planning and implementation of quantitatively oriented research in pedagogy. Principles and principles of using quantitative research methods (ex post facto research, experiments and quasi-experiments). Research set. Size with respect to test power, representativeness, normality of distribution, sampling error. Methods of data acquisition. Questionnaire (construction, types of questionnaire items and possibilities of their statistical analysis, questionnaire adaptation, item analysis, validity, reliability). Observation. Semantic differential, q methodology. Statistical significance, principle of hypothesis testing. Factual significance. Connection between statistical and factual significance of results. Data analysis. Data preparation. Statistical significance tests. Measures of factual significance. Analysis of categorical data. Comparison and testing of mean values. Correlation analysis. Regression analysis and principles of modeling relationships. Cluster analysis. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Alternative psychometric theories. Item response theory. Theory of generalizability. Knowledge space theory. Possibilities and limits of interpreting research results and errors in interpretation.

They know the basic approaches used in quantitative research, data collection techniques and methods of constructing a research sample. They can prepare and implement quantitative research using relevant approaches. They can process the obtained quantitative data using the SPSS program.
