Course content

- Communication before conference - telephoning, emailing. - Conference abstract. - Poster - preparation and presentation. Oral presentation: - Aspects of presentation (audience analysis, communication aim, difference betwee written and spoken communication, structure of oral presentation). - Rules for preparation of a presentation. - Language of presentations (verbal means). - Delivery (voice, visuals, body language, timing). - Question time. - Types of presentations (introduction speech, object description, definition/explanation of a term, process description, problem - solution). - Presentation assessment - criteria. - Self-study of literature recommended by the supervisor, min. 200 pages of text. - Preparation and delivery of 2 - 4 presentations (the number depends on the student´s level) from the area of student´s research (based on the literature studied), or a real presentation for a conference).
