Course content
The subject uses a class textbook Open Mind Advanced, Units 4, 5, and 6. During the semester students broaden their presentation skills. While working on their final presentation the following skills are practiced: signposting, structuring (introduction, the main points division, finish), visuals aids, techniques of repetition and gradation, connecting with audience, dealing with questions. Grammar: - relative pronouns - mixed conditionals - impersonal expressions in passive voice - modal verbs in passive - future perfect and future perfect continuous Lexis: - selected verb collocations and phrasal verbs - expressing and supporting personal preferences, using arguments to support opinion, writing a formal request and application, writing a summary of an online article
