Course content
Content of the lessons is arranged according to Units 1, 2, 3 in Open Mind Advanced textbook. Students read and present vocational texts from their study specializations. Grammar: - Adverb phrases - Negative questions - Future passive - Conditional conjunctions - Object complements - Negative structures with THINK SUPPOSE, etc. Improving writing skills in selected writing styles. Selected conversational topics: - Consumerism and sustainability - Business and innovation - Digital privacy, identity theft The result of a subject examination is expressed on a six-point scale: A "výborně" (i.e. "excellent"), B "velmi dobře" (i.e. "very good"), C "dobře" (i.e. "good"), D "uspokojivě" (i.e. "satisfactory"), E "dostatečně" (i.e. "sufficient"), F "nedostatečně" (i.e. "fail").

After the course students have English language knowledge reaching C1 level in: - Adverb phrases - Negative questions - Future passive - Conditional conjunctions - Object complements - Negative structures with THINK SUPPOSE, etc. - English vocabulary used to talk about consumerism and sustainability, business and innovation, digital privacy, identity theft

After the course students have ability to: - Deepen their ways to communicate fluently, in terms of appropriacy, sensitivity and the capacity to deal with unfamiliar topics at language level C1 according to CEFR 2020 - Understand longer formal texts and recognize their implicit meaning - Express themselves promptly without hesitation and longer searching for verbal expressions - Produce clear, well-structured text while showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices
