Course content
- General procedures for solving simulation studies of discrete systems, methods for obtaining input quantities and their analysis, analysis of output quantities and simulation experiments, methods of validation and verification of the simulation model. - Random numbers, methods for generating and testing values of random variables. - Petri nets, Markov chains, queue theory. - Discrete optimization methods, Monte Carlo method. - Principles of using simulation to support decision-making and visualization, analysis and prediction of a system behavior or solutions specific problems (optimization of business processes, production planning, and management, minimization of warehouses and inventory, production logistics, design of production systems, identification and elimination of system bottlenecks, optimization of service and transport systems, etc.) - Simulation languages and simulation software.
