Course content
- Multimedia - their definition and inclusion in everyday life. Multimedia services and their components, multimedia technology. - Equipment and tools used currently for multimedia presentations. The use of text in multimedia. - Image and its ways of storing, vector and raster graphics, ways of image editing. - Different colors and color models in computer graphics. The depth of color, use of pallets, storage format of the picture. - Morphing and warphing. Explanation of terms and description of the implementation. - Compression and compression algorithms. Parameters of compression algorithms. The terms of compression - logical, physical, symmetric, asymmetric, lossy, lossless, adaptive and non-adaptive. Lossless compression - methods RLE, LZW, Hoffman coding, etc.. - Lossy compression, JPEG compression principle. - Principle of MP3 compression. The principle of MPEG compression. - Ways to store digitizing and storing audio samples, MIDI, audio parameters. Audio formats stored in a computer player. - Burn data, music and video. Overview of media and their capacity. Burning speed. The terms are encountered during burning, CD formats. - Data DVD and DVD-Audio. DVD-Video and its structure. Authorization DVD. Methods of protection against illegal copying. Programs for creating DVD, Conversion AVI to DVD and vice versa. - How to store videos on your computer, parameters affecting video quality and file size. List of frequently used codecs. - Linear and non-linear video editing software VirtualDub. Video player, captions, subtitles formats. - Parameters of digital cameras. The depth of field and the factors affecting it.
