Key learning outcomes The aim of this doctoral study programme is to provide the scientific knowledge in the field of study, to ensure the development of research practice and development of a scientific or engineering personality. Mastering and applying specific applications of computational methods and knowledge of material properties and technological processes will lead to support for the design of polymer products from advanced materials and tools for their processing including simulations and model development. The doctoral study programme focuses mainly on fundamental research of the relationship between the structure, design and technological properties of functional materials based on polymers, composites, metals and ceramics. Due to the strong application potential, it is also expected to develop the acquired knowledge in solving common topics within the industry with an increased attention to computer support, automation, robotics and economic efficiency of production processes, tools and methods of evaluating parameters determining production quality.
Specific admission requirements Successful completion of Master's studies, officially certified diploma.
Specific provisions for recognition of prior learning General Rules for the Recognition of Previous Studies
Qualification requirements and regulations Completed higher education - Masters dergee
Profile of the programme academic
Persistence requirements Školitel pravidelně na konci akademického roku hodnotí plnění podmínek stanovených v Individuálním studijním plánu studenta. Po vyjádření studenta Oborová rada doporučuje pokračování ve studiu v následujícím akademickém roce.
Occupational profiles of graduates with examples Graduates are expected to be employed in leading positions associated with technical and technological preparation of production, where they will be able to develop production processes and their design on the basis of knowledge acquired through studies. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the program, graduates are in high demand especially in the automotive and aerospace industries with an employment in the production of processing tools, in engineering companies with CNC technology (e.g. tool shops), and in operations engaged in plastics and rubber production, including tool shops focused on the production of injection moulds and extrusion heads. Some of the graduates will also be employed as research and development workers in applied research centres, and after subsequent scientific-pedagogical and foreign practice also as academic staff of universities.
